I hope they patch in a few more levels and endless mode maps soon. As it is, there's little reason to keep playing this one once you've beaten it once. No endless mode, no post campaign levels for that insane challenge. My only real gripe is lack of end game content. Play Kingdom Rush Vengeance and show the entire world who is the boss, as you bring down entire empires and fight those good and boring knights in this amazing tower defense classic. The three free heroes are good, nothing special, though I wish there were a few more. This runs a greater risk of having there just be one OP tower that is always better than the others. If you would like to learn more about specific things that make these heroes the best or learn which other heroes are useful in each game keep reading. I'm not sure if it's better or worse, but it seems like you get far fewer towers overall in an average game in vengeance than in the others, but each tower is stronger. The best heroes are Oni for the original Kingdom Rush, Alric for Kingdom Rush: Frontiers, Phoenix the Eternal Bird for Kingdom Rush: Origins, and Doom Tank for Kingdom Rush: Vengeance. That said, the pacing feels a little weird compared to older games. A few IAPs doesnt change the fact that this is a must-buy. Although it still has some annoying monetization stuff in it, Kingdom Rush Vengeance is the biggest and baddest the series has been. Plus the new towers have some creative mechanics. Kingdom Rush Vengeance proves there is still room for new, great tower defense games on an App Store that sometimes feels overloaded with them. Having towers be unique from level 1 and being able to select your 5 towers before the game adds a level of strategic nuance and opens up some possibilities for interesting tower combos and synergies. Played through all 3 kingdom rush games extensively, and here are my thoughts:
